Estover Piimatööstus OÜ is the leading Estonian dairy and cheese industry, with a market share of nearly 40%. We are a company based on 100% Estonian capital and export our products to Latvia, Lithuania and from Scandinavia to Italy.
Our portfolio includes both domestically valued cheese brands and international brands known and trusted by hundreds of thousands of consumers across Europe.
Estover’s vision is to grow the culture of cheese and dairy products by offering quality, diversity and innovation, and for this reason we are constantly investing in our production capacity.
Why invest?
The dairy industry is an industry where tradition meets innovation. Our goal was to make production processes more efficient, ensure consistent product quality, and introduce new products to the market, thereby providing value to our consumers and partners.
Previous production required more manual labor and did not allow us to accurately ensure that every pack of grated cheese or cheese cube was of the same high quality. In addition, we needed a production solution that would be safer for our employees and would meet future trends, where automation and thus production efficiency will play an increasingly important role.
Investing in the future of Estover and the Estonian dairy industry
Toward this goal, we made an investment of over half a million euros, which resulted in the construction of an innovative production line. We implemented the project in cooperation with partners Baltic Pack, Steelhouse Group Estonia OÜ and 1UP Technology OÜ.
The new production line allows us to:
- produce various grated cheeses and cheese cubes,
- automatically add seasonings and other additives,
- link production processes with conveyor packaging equipment,
- ensure greater occupational safety and overall process performance through automatic control.
The result is a modern and innovative production line that is approximately 20 meters long and has a processing capacity of over 3 tons of cheese per hour. This means that productivity increased at least three times, labor costs decreased significantly, and every kilo of cheese produced is of higher quality and more uniform than ever before.
The first stage of the project lasted approximately three months and during this time a new grating and dicing device was installed, followed by flavoring conveyors and automation. The final stage included the addition of all remaining conveyor belts that transport products directly to packaging machines.
This investment is just one step in a longer-term vision to increase Estover’s level of automation and production efficiency.
This is one of the important steps towards the future through which Estover aims to be one of the most innovative manufacturing companies in Estonia.
Although it was a medium-sized investment, its technical complexity and comprehensive solution were significant for us. It shows Estover’s firm direction for the future, to create manufacturing solutions that meet international automation trends, ensure the highest quality of our products and offer our customers world-class products.
